LARRY KISSELL, NANCY PELOSI, AND TOBACCO TAXES
Where’s Larry On Tobacco Taxes?

The US House of Representatives passed an expansion of the SCHIP program that included a nearly 200% increase on the federal excise tax on tobacco products.  This assault on North Carolina’s economy was pushed by Larry Kissell’s new best friend in Washington, Nancy Pelosi.  North Carolina Republican Party Chairman Linda Daves said that voters have a right to know whether Kissell would have backed Pelosi or North Carolina farmers.

“Getting Larry Kissell to stake out a firm position on an issue is like catching an eel with one hand tied behind your back,” said Daves.   “This SCHIP bill would have serious consequences for North Carolina, and voters have the right to know what side he would have chosen.”
