NCGOP HIRES NEW CHIEF OF STAFF

RALEIGH—Chairman Linda Daves, North Carolina Republican Party, announced today that the NCGOP has hired a new Chief of Staff.

Daves said, “Across the state, Republicans know and trust Chris McClure for his experience and integrity.  With this addition, the NCGOP has a team in place that is poised to move Republicans in North Carolina toward victory in 2008.”

Chris McClure joined the North Carolina Republican Party on Oct. 1, 2007 as the Chief of Staff.  Prior to joining the staff of the NCGOP, he served as Finance Director of McHenry for Congress.  Prior to joining the McHenry team, he served on the staff of the NCGOP, first as House Campaign Director, then as Executive Director of the Victory 2006 program.  Chris also served as Political Director for the Cobey for Governor Campaign and the Joe Knott for Attorney General Campaign.  He has worked as the Coordinator of Communications and Government Relations for the North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA).  Chris graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. in Political Science in 2002.  He is originally from Clyde, NC where his family still resides.

“I am excited to be joining the NCGOP team at this important time in the life of our party and our state.  My previous experience at the state party headquarters has prepared me to help Republicans spread the message of conservative principles and ideals across North Carolina.”  McClure said.
