NCGOP HALL OF FAME AWARDS BANQUET SET
FOR SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 17TH
RALEIGH—The 13th Biennial Hall of Fame Awards Banquet will be held on Saturday, November 17th at the Embassy Suites in Cary. The 2007 Hall of Fame Awards Banquet is the premier event of the year for the North Carolina Republican Party. The benefits reaped from the proceeds of the event will help ensure that the entire Republican ticket has an advantage in next year's elections.
This year’s event will feature a gubernatorial straw poll. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to complete a ballot designating their choice for the Republican nominee for Governor. The straw poll is being sponsored by the North Carolina Republican Party and administered by the North Carolina Federation of Young Republicans.
The North Carolina Republican Party's Hall of Fame was established in 1982 and became a biennial awards event in 1985. Since 1985, in odd-numbered years, the NCGOP recognizes one individual from each Congressional District who has demonstrated a commitment to the North Carolina Republican Party through their years of work and service. There will also be three statewide awards presented, including: the Charles Raper Jonas Award, the J.E. Broyhill Award, and the John P. East Memorial Award.
The goal of the North Carolina Republican Party's Hall of Fame Awards Banquet is twofold: to publicly recognize and honor individuals who have given their "blood, sweat, and tears" for our Party and to serve as a major fundraising event for the North Carolina Republican Party leading into the critical 2008 election cycle.
